And here comes the moment when I was able to separate from Unturned and finally move to my own concept and my own game, not everything I had time to realize from what I wanted, and there is still a lot of work to be done.
All the models, textures and logic of the game itself have been rewritten and redone, so I can say with relief that this is now a completely independent product that I would love to work with and want to work with. The game has a heavy emphasis on AI interaction with the world, essentially the same ALife as in Stalker, only without the offline mod (which had a bad effect on performance and something I still need to work on). The game has several types of mutants, but of all of them in the trailer I showed only zombies, as others are not ready 😀 And also in the game there are quests, questgivers respectively (although they can be even dynamic AI), well and of course, sitting around the campfire, where they can tell jokes (without playing the guitar).
The map is a mixture of Ukrainian Carpathians with Polish Tatras, as well as 3 locations: some villages, Nowa Huta (literally completely drawn from the district of the same name in Krakow, I literally walked around it shooting references to transfer what I saw in the game. If there will be time I will describe more details with photos of my efforts to repeat the real location from the world), well and the district with panels. The latter was also drawn from a neighborhood in Krakow, but I decided to transfer it to the Ukrainian “part” of the map.
