Greetings to all dear players. I am pleased to announce another update to the game, which turned out to be more global than it might have seemed at first glance. So, let’s start with the changes, and then, as tradition dictates, move on to the summary.
List of changes:
– The game’s network code has been completely rewritten from scratch, so it no longer requires a server host on a computer or even third-party services (such as ZeroTier One).
– The fog radius has been reduced.
– The ability to interact with weapon attachments has been added (e.g. bayonet attack).
– Ukrainian and Spanish localizations have been added.
– The ability to choose the server region, which significantly affects the performance of the network game, has been added.
– The Unity3D version has been updated.
– Minor bugs have been fixed and new ones have been added 😛
– Significant optimization work has been done.
Another serious update for the game was its renaming from Unturunted to Obsession, and the reason for this was quite simple: the old name was perceived by all dictionaries and search engines as a mistake, making the project harder to find and index. Secondly, thanks to the updated version of the game engine, the game finally appeared on Google Play Store, which was previously deemed impossible due to Google’s strict requirements.
The game avatar was changed to avoid confusing users with an endless stream of identical game icons. Since the new version has a different identifier, the OS treats it as two different games.
Many have noted that the game is not supported on their devices, which is likely due to the update of the game engine along with the game libraries. Because of this, I have decided not to delete the old version of the game, but instead leave it in a separate section with outdated versions so that new players do not accidentally install it and do not make any claims to me about an outdated product. I will try to do everything possible to fix this problem as soon as possible.
I know that everyone is eagerly waiting for the release of version 3.0, and I am by no means trying to delay the release of the game, which, by the way, is quite raw. However, it would be dishonest to say that the only reason I haven’t released the game yet is because of the delay in response from 505 Games. Even with their quick response, I probably wouldn’t have had time to fix all the bugs, as I currently have a lot of problems in my personal life (yes, it exists) that also need to be solved, including on the financial side.
Well, let’s not focus on the sad, after all, I have you, because, essentially, it is only thanks to you and your activity, creativity, support, and so on, that I am still working on the project and trying not to give up, and that’s all for now, see you all later!
