Unturunted DevLog 3

Welcome to everyone, today I’m ready to make introduction of the new update of Unturunted Mobile game. This version is not going to be full of great innovations, but nevertheless it is very important from the point of view of the future. So, at the bottom I will list the changes that occurred in the new version, well, and then, let’s talk about everything, who is not interested in the last, you can safely skip, because it will be only at the very end of the article 🙂

Changes:

– Bug with disappearing ability to take objects in hands and fists finally defeated and destroyed.

– Bug with the hardcore, because of which it was impossible to pick up objects is fixed.

– Returned the Launcher and updated it, now it simply redirects to the browser, which is already going to automatically download the game.

– Added version validator in the game itself, so that the launcher now do not have to go to check for a new update.

– Now the counter of seen advertising is updated in the main menu.

– Advertising increased to 150 from 100 (sorry, at the end of the article I will explain what this is about).

– The weight of the game reduced to 44 mb. Here even I am surprised. By the way, the Launcher weighs 33 mb, provided that there is almost nothing in it.

– Updated unity to version 2020. Should have been a plus, but because of a bunch of optimization problems and bugs with network code, which opened after the update, rather the opposite.

– Cross-platform support has been removed. A game with 2013 network code can not work with 2020 network code, which makes sense. So sorry.

– Minor interface and main menu fixes.

– Fixes of small bugs.

In general, this is all the major changes that occurred in the new version with the codename 23, yes, now each new version will have its own numbering, which will also be marked in the main menu of the game, so each time not to leave the same inscription 2.2.5. It was planned that the game will also display a list of gratitude to all patrons and their donations, but API Diyaka though light, but it did not give me the ability to flexibly customize the display, from which with the help of oaunth I was able to display only the name donated. And since the donator’s name is essentially a password, it’s silly to display it. Even if only half, but nevertheless, I’ll try to somehow immortalize all those who help develop the project, I promise.

Well, now let’s talk about the essence. I think you noticed, as recently the project has become systematically commercialized (although not, but more about this later), however, I apologize for this, I hope you will understand and forgive me, because it is the only way I can save up to buy a server, which, as it turned out, is not the cheapest pleasure. Also I think that soon I will move away from the idea of copying Unturned and go for something more original, so as not to create a clone effect, for it really hurts me sometimes. Many people think that I just took the original game and added controllers to it, others even think that it is an emulation of the game on some cloud PC (no kidding, I’ve seen them myself), but in fact – this game is the fruit of hard work and even slave labor, in which I put hundreds of hours, and even thousands of hryvnias (Ukrainian currency). That’s why I’m especially sensitive to bad reviews of the game. Secondly, that Nelson wasn’t very angry that I made, though not in an easy way, but still a copy of his works (models in the game and the concept itself is his handiwork), so that for me, as for the original author – it will be a kind of facilitating exhalation, which will allow me to further develop the project and not to be involved in the framework of copyright.

What do you think, whether such an idea has a place to live? And what do you think in general about the policy of receiving benefits in the game, I’ll be glad if you write me this, my contacts you have long known, so I look forward to your response, for the words community for me means a lot (no irony). Although I may sometimes disagree with something, sometimes I may even yell, but still – it’s not out of spite, but rather as a preventive conversation about the impossible, let’s put it this way 🙂 That’s all, love to everyone.

SEE YOU, UNTURNED
